Im letzte Jahr habe ich
besucht. Dieses Jahr sieht es ja leider etwas mau aus mit Urlaubstrips und so werde ich in den nächsten beiden Wochen mal Fotos aus dem vergangen Jahr veröffentlichen.
Heute erst mal 4 Bilder aus 2019 die mir besonders gut gefallen:
Letztes Jahr im Herbst war ich auf Borkum. Eine Woche Seele baumeln lassen und hier kommen die Bilder dazu.
Lang ist es her.. aber im Dezember 2016 war ich für 4 Tage auf Sylt. Ich habe dort an einem Fotokurs des BSW teilgenommen (Bahnsozialwerk) und wir hatten zwar am ersten Tag etwas Pech mit dem Wetter, wurden dann aber die nächsten Tage echt verwöhnt. Da mein Computer gepimpt wurde muß ich leider meine Lightroom Datenbank komplett neu einlesen und hier hänge ich gewaltig hinterher. Ich dachte aber ich könnte trotzdem mal ein paar von den JPGs hochladen die während des Kurses entstanden sind.
Sylt ist auf jeden Fall atemberaubend schön .. und ich war bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal hier.
Heute mal ein Post der etwas anderen Art. Ich habe seit letztem Jahr einen neuen Kalender. Nur eigentlich ist es nicht einfach ein Kalender. Es ist ein Taschenbegleiter von Roterfaden und mir so richtig ans Herz gewachsen im letzten Jahr. Im Gegensatz zu Filofax und ähnlichen Verdächtigen ist der Taschenbegleiter vollkommen flexibel. Der Inhalt wird mit drei Stahlklammern gehalten und kann somit alles ein was geknickt oder gebunden DIN A 5 ergibt. Produziert werden die handgenähten Schätze in Saarbrücken, aber für alle für die das zu weit weg ist gibt es einen super Onlineshop. Hier kann man auch alle möglichen Materialien, Formate und Ausgestaltungsformen sehen.
In meinem Taschenbegleiter befindet sich ein Heft mit persönlichen Dingen, ein Kalender von Roterfaden und ein Heft von Roterfaden für die Arbeit. Dazu kommen Visitenkarten-Einlagen und Hüllen für lose Zettel. In den Taschen der Innen-Front habe ich eigene Visitenkarten, Büroklammern und sonstiges Kleinzeug und was soll ich sagen? Er begleitet mich überall hin. Ich wüsste überhaupt nicht mehr was ich ohne ihn machen sollte.
Schon ganz am Anfang unserer gemeinsamen Zeit bin ich natürlich auf die Suche nach DIN A 5 Heften gegangen die ich benutzen konnte. Die Roterfaden Hefte sind zwar prima, aber ich wollte ihn optisch innen etwas aufpeppen, bzw. den privaten Teil deutlich optisch abgrenzen. Bei dieser Gelegenheit bin ich per Zufall auf Cats on Appletrees gestoßen. Ein kleines Designstudio aus Dresden und habe mir testweise mal zwei derer Hefte in DIN A 5 bestellt und war sofort hin und weg. Die Papeterie Sache sind qualitativ super und die kleinen Designs auf den Heftseiten schaffen es immer wieder mir ein Lächeln ins Gesicht zu zaubern. Kein Wunder also das mittlerweile auch die Lesezeichen, Stempel, Grußkarten und sogar Frühstücksbrettchen den Weg in mein Zuhause gefunden haben.
Für mich sind diese beiden die perfekte Symbiose für meinen Alltag.

Dieses Motorrad ist mir im Oktober im Städtchen Franklin im Bundesstaat Tennessee in den USA begegnet. Wir hatten die Wahl zwischen Jack Daniels und Franklin und ich muß zugeben dass allein die wunderschöne Hauptstrasse von Franklin mich für den Verzicht auf die Jack Daniels Destillerie entschädigt hat.
Today I’ve got something different. I feel the need to write about my ShuYao Teamaker to Go. Normally I’m a coffee person. As I know that coffee, as much as I drink it, is not really healthy I started to look for additional options for something warm to drink. Tea was a obvious option, but I don’t like the stuff they put into teabags and I can’t always carry a set for proper tea making around so there had to be another possibility. I stumbled upon Shu Yao. They offer a tea maker to go and a incredible variety of tea sorts that do not bitter when left in the water for longer than 5 minutes. Those tea sorts they created for the Tea-To-Go cup can all be brewed over again for 4 times, so that one teaspoon of tea can fill this cup 5 times and all I need is hot water.
I didn’t need to think about it twice and ordered my ShuYao cup with a lot of different test sizes of tea. Those are quite expensive as they offer exactly the portion you need for the cup and are single packed (in recyclable packaging). They cost around 1 to 2 Euros per portion and if this would be the only option to get this tea it would clearly be too expensive. But as soon as you have found the sorts you like you can order those in 50 or 100 g portions for 4 to 9 Euros (depending on the sort of tea and it’s ingredients). So what I do now is I have my three or four sorts that I already love and I order those in 50 to 100 gram portions and every time I place an order I’m going to add 4 or 5 test portions that just sound interesting.

Those sorts are all without caffein, but I’ve as well tried some with and I have never tried a sort that tasted awful so far.

As you can see on the pictures below the cap does include a filter that takes care that none of the loose tea gets into one’s mouth while drinking. If the cap is on closed position it even keeps the tea hot and the additionally, depending from the sort chosen, it looks quite fascinating when the tea is floating around in the water.

The last sunny weekend I used for a short visit of the „Kurhotel Stromberg“ originally built in around 1930 and now empty since the hotel owner filled for insolvency around 2001. It’s really sad how much vandalism can be seen there. Actually it seems there is no whole window left in the whole building. I didn’t go inside yesterday, as I always think it’s better not to be alone in such a case, but stayed outside. Pretty soon clouds were coming up and the few light was fading away .. so I had to leave..but I’ll be back!

Our last walk was Drummin to Westport with a distance of 19km and an approx. time of 5 – 7 hours. The tour started and ended in rain. So that when we reached Altamount B & B we were totally wet and weary and quite happy that Mary offered such a warm welcome with homemade sandwiches and coffee.
When I look back on our tour I can only say that it was perfectly organized by Hillwalk Ireland. The B & Bs were without any exception nice, cosy and we always had a warm and homely welcome there. The routes were perfectly described so that there was no chance to fail in finding the right way. I can absolutely recommend doing a walk with Hillwalk Tours!
